Business Intelligence: a trend marketing session for you!
+To better understand our DNA and our European market, GS1 in Europe has been working over the past years on collecting data about the Member Organisations who form GS1 in Europe. We have now a better picture of where we stand as a European platform composed of 49 MOs. Join us to see the results of the last survey and discuss together what are the biggest trend within our EU MOs!
Product passport for batteries, we’re in charge!
+Europe is aiming for zero carbon emissions in 2050 and the movement has already begun. The European Commission and GS1 in Europe are working collaboratively to make future carbon neutral with the new product passport concept. To start with the battery sector.
At this moment the team is just being formed, but during the regional forum a draft guideline on the product passport will be ready to share. You will learn how industry can identify, capture (label) and share the data on traceability, green aspects, sustainability and transactional data through the product passport. The first goal is that industry will be able to ensure reuse and recycling of batteries and the second goal is that the public will be able to ensure the source of the battery is green in terms of CO2 and human rights.
GLN: Going from local to global
+Over the last year MOs have teamed up to work on the development for the standards around GLN and creating the requirements to add GLN to the GS1 Registry Platform. This is all done just in time for the regional forum. During this session you will:
- Be updated on all materials that have been delivered by the GLN Programme
- Know how the GLN Registry will work with other data sources (local registries and sector specific)
- Get insight on the plans of Global Office to build the registry, its components and how you can connect (data IN & data OUT)

Marketplaces: the new normal
+The disruptive nature of Marketplaces continues to drive change at an accelerating pace, and even more so as a result of the COVID pandemic. Marketplaces are recognised as a top priority for the GS1 community, since 1) they are a key source of membership growth for many MOs, 2) they drive usage of the GTIN while also opening up many opportunities ahead to encourage broader adoption of GS1 Standards and Services in the Marketplace ecosystem, 3) there is a strong ask from the Marketplace community itself to ensure that our Standards and Services are fit for ecommerce.
Join us to learn more about:
- The GS1 Marketplace Programme and its three workstreams – Standards, Services and Education & Awareness
- Global Marketplace engagement to-date

Hackathon: Green is the new black!
+Sustainability is maybe the most important focus area of GS1 for the future. In recent years this trend was already pointed out, but now it’s becoming a reality. New developments are happening all over Europe, for example on the product passport. But also on a global level, people are more and more connected with sustainability, on a personal but also on a business level.
So now is the time to make it more tangible for us! How can our standards help supporting the green use cases? What can they do exactly? What needs to be changed? With this green conceptual hackathon, we will think differently, and will be a part of shaping the future of GS1!
COVID-19 safety measures: multi-layered safety approach
Based on the Polish regulations and the main measures that all the EU countries are adopting we are working on a multi-layered COVID-19 safety approach that includes prevention, protection, mitigation, monitoring and maintaining safety.
Measures include tests, touchless environments, re-vamped catering, meeting rooms occupancy monitoring, upgrades to facility infrastructure and strategies to increase personal commitments like adhering to social distancing.
More information will be shared with the participants before the event.
We are committed to trying to give you a great experience with useful and interesting content for both formats, in-person and online. Beyond the plenaries and sessions that will happen during the week, we will be live 8 hours a day through our GS1 in Europe Radio Station. With this radio station, you will be able to connect with the event in Warsaw from 09:00 to 18:00 CET, from Monday to Thursday, and see what is happening, see interviews with some of the event speakers, have recaps of the sessions, connect with colleagues, listen to good music and much more!
